Charles Darwin was indeed wise beyond his years. However, this quote may not have been his. Most of his writings and recorded statements are in the domain of science, not philosophical or psychological introspection, which this quote would fall under. I don’t fact check my quotes before I share them. In my eyes, it doesn’t matter who said it. As long as it is positive and doesn’t hurt anyone, I don’t see the harm.
If a particular quote becomes popular then I tend to look into them further. I can find no record of Charles Darwin ever saying this. But it is a powerful statement none the less.
