I’m excited to dive into Farming Simulator 25, but I’m holding off on buying it until a handful of essential mods make the transition from FS22. Consider this my checklist—no, my demands—before I commit to the new game.
I play FS22 in a very specific way that I thoroughly enjoy: it’s all about grass, and I do it the lazy way. My setup revolves around automation and efficiency. I use 4–5 Krone Big M450 mowers equipped with quick balers to mow fields, and I automate the entire process. Each mower has its own designated parking spot, thanks to AutoDrive. Once the routes and courses are set up, all I need to do is hit start—they handle the mowing and return home when done.
From there, I send out an autoload flatbed truck to collect the bales and deposit them in my bale storage, while a small amount gets diverted to the hay silo. When I’m ready to cash in, I drop a sell point at the output of the bale storage and sell the silage for massive profits.
If I’m going for a dairy setup, I adapt the same strategy. I store hay in a silo and have it distributed automatically, alongside another silo for TMR. This setup is my bread and butter in FS22, and I absolutely love it. While I understand FS25’s new mechanics might encourage a slightly different playstyle, I’m confident I’ll still gravitate toward this style of play. Until the mods I rely on are available for FS25, I’ll stick with FS22.
For me, the setup is the game. I love creating routes and automating everything possible. I like to cheat in several million dollars, go straight for the mega equipment, and dive headfirst into setting up a massive farming operation.
The main reason I want the Lizard Colossus Harvester pack is simple: I plant grain for the straw to feed my TMR silo. While I enjoy setting up routes for grain carts and semis hauling to silos, I’m not a fan of the grind of the actual harvest. I just want that sweet, sweet straw afterward. The Colossus Harvesters make quick work of large fields, and they’re a must-have for my playstyle.
Here’s my list of essential mods that need either a direct conversion or a comparable alternative in FS25. Once I’ve checked every box, I’ll finally make the leap to the new game:
Until then, I’ll be watching closely and waiting patiently. FS25, I’ll see you soon—when my mods are ready.
