Why convert AVIF or WEBP in the first place?
AVIF and WEBP make websites load faster because the files are so much smaller, which is exactly why so many sites serve them by default now. The problem shows up the moment you try to actually use one of these images somewhere else: older versions of Photoshop, Microsoft Office, most printers, and plenty of forums, marketplaces, and CMS uploaders still only take JPG, PNG, or GIF. Converting fixes that in a couple seconds without installing anything.
