Too Burned Out To Code So I'm Farming Now
From Coding Burnout To Virtual Farming
I think I finally broke my coding brain. For weeks, I was on a rampage—squashing bugs, tweaking Wisedocks’ frontend, and completely reworking the designs of EchoChamberEffect.com and my personal shopping list site. But now? I’ve barely touched a single line of code in two weeks.
Instead, I’ve been sitting around watching Netflix and playing Farming Simulator 22. Maybe my coding itch has finally been scratched, or maybe my brain just decided it was done processing PHP for a while.
<?php
$energy = 0;
$motivation = 0;
$productivity = $energy + $motivation;
if ($productivity === 0) {
echo "Fatal Error: Jason has crashed. Restart required.";
sleep(99999); // Infinite burnout mode
}
?>
Since I wasn’t building websites, I threw myself into my second great addiction—Farming Simulator. I’ve already logged 2,600 hours in FS22 (which I’m pretty sure qualifies me for an honorary agriculture degree), but I’ve been eyeing FS25. Unfortunately, from what I’ve read, it’s got fewer new maps and more bugs than a cheap motel, so I think I’ll wait. Maybe it’ll go on sale this summer. I mean, $50 for a glitchy simulation game is a bit steep—especially when I’m still having fun with the old one.
Retire The Satire
But let’s talk about EchoChamberEffect.com for a second. I started it to make fun of the Trump 2.0 shit-show, but at this point, I don’t even know what to do with it. I set out to write satire, but when reality itself is one big ridiculous punchline, where do you even go from there? It’s hard to parody something that’s already a living, breathing meme factory.
That’s led me to question what I actually want to do with the domain. The name is too good to waste, so I’ll definitely use it for something—just not sure what yet. Maybe I’ll reinvent it entirely. Maybe I’ll turn it into a collection of the wildest real-life headlines that feel too dumb to be true. Or maybe I’ll wake up in a week with a brand-new idea and go full-speed into another project like I always do.
Who knows? I sure as hell don’t. Stay tuned—I’ll figure it out eventually.
