Anatomy of a blog post in 2025

Usually, when I write a blog post, I type it out, then paste it into ChatGPT and say, "Hey, clean this post up for me." This fixes misspellings and corrects my atrocious grammar. But the problem is, the resulting post is no longer in my tone, and ChatGPT typically removes most of my post and tidies it up to be more readable. This is nice, but I'm a wordy talker. I over-explain and double-explain the same thing multiple times. So, I have, in a sense, lost my voice by doing this.

Since the entire world is now using AI to write for them, I often find myself relieved to find grammatical errors when reading anything online. I don't want to do this anymore. I may still use ChatGPT to help me write, but my prompts are going to be much more strict when I do. As in, "Fix any grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors in this blog post. Don’t rewrite or rephrase unless absolutely necessary; just correct the grammar and leave my style and structure alone."

This way, my voice will shine through more. My posts may be more wordy, but that's me. AI is amazing for things like spelling and grammar, but it can hijack your tone if you let it rewrite your posts for you. It will probably even sound better than what you wrote, but that's not you. Here's to sounding like an idiot again. Let's do this!

Echo Chamber Effect

I reworked EchoChamberEffect.com to act as a sort of slideshow a few months ago. It was set with crackling sound effects, and the words were spoken in an eerie tone explaining the problem with echo chambers. It was fun to make but not very user-friendly. So, this week, I rebuilt the simple one-page site again. This time, I went more simple with a cool Matrix-themed background. I worked on the message a bit. I want you to think about how you treat social media while you read the page.

Your Digital Mirror

That version of you online? It’s a feedback loop. Your beliefs, your rants, your tribe; reflected, amplified, repeated until you stop noticing anything else. The algorithm isn’t a villain. It’s a mirror. You’re not a victim here; you chose the comfort. Algorithms are just mirrors, and you’re the one standing in front of it.

The algorithm is your mirror echoed back to you. This plays back to what I was talking about earlier. AI rewriting your posts will simply take your premise, then mix it up with its training data, and spit out someone else's opinion. Let's stop doing that. Bad grammar is a badge of honor that you still have your own voice. Don't let AI take that from you.

Crypto Puzzle

I built the crypto puzzle game this week. It's currently running on Wisedocks and FartDump. I spent most of my week building this game. It gave me the idea to build a Wheel of Fortune type of game using its logic later on. The crypto puzzle game is, I would say, 90% complete. So you should go play, and if you want to know more, visit the blog post about it here.

Homepage Facelift

I wanted the homepage to be load, but I may have went a bit overboard. So I gave it a small facelift today. Mostly in the hero section. I also added some spacing in the cards and took the high scores out of the marquee and put them into their own card. I'm sorry, but I love marquees still; though they do look very dated. I kept the one with miscellaneous links but moved it to the bottom of the page.

Pipeline

I have a few more projects in the pipeline. Code Breaker is one that is being developed right now, if you want a sneak peek at a game that isn't functioning but started. Follow along as I improve it. It will show up on the homepage once it is working somewhat correctly.

Happy Flag Day

American flag tattered and torn. Happy Flag Day!
