Stuart Fails To Save The Universe May Be My New Favorite Show
The Gift That Keeps On Giving
The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite shows. It's actually playing right now in the background. The military just took over the guys project, poor fellas. Anyway, when I heard about a new spin-off with Kevin Sussman (Stuart), John Ross Bowie (Kripke), Lauren Lapkus (Denise), and Brian Posehn (Bert), I was cautiously excited. Young Sheldon was a great spin-off, especially since it didn't have the laugh track! Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage had the laugh track which completely lost me. You could say laugh tracks are not my cup of tea.
Not having a laugh track with Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is a big plus. Not to mention that Stuart, Kripke, Denise, and Bert were some of my favorite side characters on the original Big Bang Theory. The whole premise of multi-dimensions is an amazing way to throw the story lines all over the place. It is a great way to bring in surprise guests and old faces.
I have only seen one episode so far and was pleasantly surprised as first episodes are usually pretty bad. If the first episode is any indication, then we may have another hit. Judging by the reviews on IMDB, this series may be a cult classic in the making. The people that liked the nerdy first 3 seasons of the Big Bang Theory will likely love this show. Those that came along later when it turned into a sitcom about couples may not be as convinced to get on board.
That is fair as Stuart Fails To Save The Universe seems poised to grab ahold of that initial audience that enjoyed geeking out with the guys in apartment 4A. I'm along for this ride and hope the show keeps up quality from the first episode.
They could chill out with the AI in the intro's a bit.
I think Gary dying is going to be like Kenny on South Park as it seems to already be a running joke. They don't even show his picture on Google.
